Dear community,

we are delighted to announce some new features in coachingspace once again.

A new function for the notepad

A new function has arrived in our notepad: from now on, you will find a number of templates from various experts there. Do you have templates like these, too? Feel free to send them to us. As long as there aren't too many, we will include them as well and credit you by name.

This new function also made us realize once again that the term "notepad" does not (or no longer) do justice to all the wonderful and powerful consulting methods you can map with it. That is why we are currently asking you on our social media channels for an alternative name, and we are curious to see which one it will be.

Cooperation launched with a pioneer of online coaching

Anyone who looks into the topic of "online coaching" in Germany will stumble across his name sooner or later. His books on "e-coaching", as he calls it, are among the best-selling works on the subject. It is no exaggeration to call him the pioneer of online coaching in Germany. We are talking about Harald Geißler.

After studying education, Harald Geißler earned his doctorate in 1976 and completed his habilitation in 1985. From 1985 to 2015, he held the Chair of Education with a focus on vocational and workplace education at Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg. Since then, his research has focused on organizational learning and coaching, in particular coaching with modern media.

In the mid-2000s, he finally turned to the question of whether self-coaching could work via an online platform. To find out, he promptly decided to develop such a platform himself. This was the birth of www.virtuelles-selbstcoaching.de, the world's (!) first online coaching platform or, if you like, the predecessor of coachingspace.

Much like our own commitment to evidence at coachingspace, Geißler's platform was also meant to be accompanied by scientific research: in numerous studies, he therefore examined topics such as the success factors of online coaching. Yet the pioneer did not keep the knowledge he gained to himself, and still doesn't: he went on to establish himself as a trainer for online coaching with his website www.online-coaching-lernen.de.

The first steps of the cooperation

Against this impressive background, it was with a mixture of astonishment and awe that we received Harald Geißler's request late last year, asking whether we could integrate the successful, proven methods of his platform into coachingspace. Today we are proud to announce that we are more than happy to fulfill this wish.

Transfer coaching and goal achievement coaching are two of Harald Geißler's established coaching methods. We at coachingspace are delighted and honored to integrate them into our platform. We now face the challenge of implementing the two methods as quickly as possible on the one hand, while on the other hand ensuring quality with a solution that stays as close as possible to the proven original.

In consultation with Harald Geißler, we opted for a typically systemic "both/and" and will therefore bring the methods into coachingspace in two steps: for those who can't wait, since this week we have been offering a kind of alpha version via our digital notepad. There, the questions are available and can be answered by coachees in the usual way. However, this version is purely text-based. That means image selection is not available yet. For everyone who considers exactly that essential, a second, later step will follow with the implementation via our whiteboard, which will then also allow image selection.

We hope this gives as many fans of the two methods as possible an attractive solution, and we look forward to your feedback.

Warm regards
